DODGERS TEAM DIVISONS

 

Dodgers memberships are based on grade level registration. Current team offerings include: 2017 (12th), 2018 (11th), 2019 (10th), 2020 (9th), 2021 (8th), 2022 (7th), 2023 (6th), 2024 (5th), 2025 (4rd) and 2026 (3rd).

In place of traditional tryouts prior to joining a team, evaluations are conducted to help introduce and determine skill-levels of interested new athletes. Once approved by Dodgers staff, new members will be invited to register within the team of their appropriate age group. There is a $10 fee for participation.

FUTURES: GRADES 3-5

Dodgers Futures welcomes players brand new to the game as well as players aiming to improve their basic skills, develop individual techniques and strengthen position specific performance. Futures leads up to team concepts and is designed to provide a fun and exciting environment in which players experience repetition with the ball and stick and are exposed to lacrosse strategies in an age appropriate setting.

Main Focus: Fundamental skills of catching and throwing under pressure at game speed.

Core Concepts: 1 v 1 defense and attack skills such as footwork, body positioning, dodging and shooting.

MIDDLE SCHOOL: GRADES 6-8

Designed to recognize the developmental diversity of players in this complex age group, Dodgers Middle School provides personalized instruction based on: basic skills, position specific techniques (attack, defense, midfield and goalkeeping), team concepts and small sided games. Middle School offers a fun yet competitive environment. Summer team rosters are determined by skill and age group. 

Main Focus: Stick skill development leading to increase in ball-handling confidence. Individual and team defense and attack strategies. 

Core Concepts: Shooting, passing and defending under pressure at game speed and team strategy.

HIGH SCHOOL: GRADES 9-12

Through Dodgers High School, our approach offers athletes exposure to multiple coaching styles, providing a diverse experience for the athlete in preparation for high school and college. Our clinic settings provide a challenging environment for the most competitive lacrosse player while also allowing the less experienced player to continue to develop and grow. Dodgers develops the individual skills that foster a confidence on the field through repetition in a challenging but supportive environment. Elite team members will be coached by not only the Dodgers staff, but also multiple college coaches from all levels of play.

Main Focus: The 2-person game, recognizing opportunity whether on defense or attack. Individual skills and team strategies.

Core Concepts:  The ability to execute under pressure with skill and composure.

ADULT

For 18+ women, our adult team is an opportunity to play in one or two fun high level women's events such as Lake Placid and Vail. Unlike Futures, Middle School and High School, an evaluation is not required for interested athletes to join this team.
